How to Remove Redirect and Iminent Toolbar?


This iminent thing must have ridden in on some download but it is all over the browser trying to put up spammy stuff in facebook, gmail, pinterest. I t may be partially blocked by some other add-ons like adblock-plu or better privacy, but it is there creating spurious toolbars on all my social sites and with little popout side windows.

Alternative Solution: Reset IE to its default state

If you think the setting process is complicated or you can’t find the items mentioned above, you can follow this solution to reset IE to its default state.


1. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools at the top right corner, and then select Internet options.


2. Switch to Advanced tab in the window and click on the Reset button.


3. Check Delete personal settings and click Reset button in the new window.


4. After the reset finished, click Close button. Then restart Internet Explorer.

For Mozilla Firefox Users:


1. To remove extensions and plugins: click on the orange Firefox button firefox button on the upper left corner of the browser → hit Add-ons → go to Extensions tab → Remove Iminent related extensions

2. To change homepage: click on the orange Firefox button firefox button → hit Options→ select General → choose Restore to Default.


3. To reset default search engine: Click on the inverted triangle in the search bar → choose Manage Search Engines → locate Web Search ( → hit Remove and OK → click the inverted triangle again → select a preferred search provider as default search engine from the menu

Alternative Solution: Reset Firefox to its default state

This solution is easy to follow, but you will lose your customized settings.

1. Click on orange Firefox button on the upper left corner of the browser, and then move the mouse pointer to Help in the dropped-down menu and select Troubleshooting information in the sub-menu.



2. Click the Reset Firefox button in the Troubleshooting Information page and in the confirmation window that opens.



3. Firefox will close and be reset. When it’s done, a window will list the information that was imported.

Click on Customize icon (Wrench or 3 bar icon) →select Settings

3. To reset default search engine: click on Manage search engine → set a desired search engine as your default search engine → remove from the list by clicking the recycle bin


4. To remove extension: click Extensions above Settings → search for Iminent extensions → click the Recycling Bin to remove it
