How to Remove Redirect Virus


  • Step 1> Remove/uninstall malicious program, toolbar and potentially unwanted programs(PUP) from control panel
  • Step 2> Remove redirect from IE/ Firefox/Google Chrome
  • Step 3> Remove residual junk files and invalid registry entries from your PC using Cloud System Booster


Step 1> Remove/uninstall malicious program, toolbar and potentially unwanted programs(PUP) from control panel


Note: redirect virus infects your PC alongside different free software, shareware or video, download from the internet, so you are suggested to uninstall all unknown and dubious programs. By the way, you’d better consider the recent installed program tracing back to time of the redirect hijacking appearing.


For Windows XP: Click “Start“>”Control Panel“>”Add or Remove Programs“>”Programs and Features“>Look for unknown and dubious programs, select them and click Remove one by one.


For Windows 7/Vista: Click “Start” (“Windows Logo”)>”Control Panel“>”Uninstall a program“(under Program)>look for unknown and dubious programs, select them and click Uninstall/Change one by one.


For Windows 8: Right-click on the screen’s bottom-left corner> “Control Panel” >”Uninstall a program“(under Program)> Look for unknown and dubious programs, select them and click Uninstall/Change one by one.


Step 2> Remove redirect from IE/ Firefox/Google Chrome


IEIf you are Internet Explorer users


1. Open Internet Explorer> click on the gear icon(for window 7 users)/Tools (for Windows XP users) at the top (far right)>click Internet Options.



2. In the Internet Options pop-up window: click Advanced tab>click Reset button>click OK.



3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings window: select Delete personal settings>click Reset.



4. After complete resetting, click Close and then click OK.


FirefoxIf your are Firefox users:


1. 1. Go to Firefox KQ)0~}BED~G9HGB2Q_AL`BU, move to Help and then click on Troubleshooting information.



Then, click on Reset Firefox to remove redirect.




Note: For Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browser damage repair, the method mentioned above is browser reset which recovers your browsers original default settings. If you want to restore your personalized settings, it is advised to use Anvi Slim ToolBar to remove redirect from browsers and get back to your personalized browser settings.

2. Remove toolbars and extensions from browsers


After installing Anvi Slim ToolBar, please open it(if you use trial version, click wwwat the right bottom of box; if you use pro version, input your license key in the blank box), and click on Manage to detect toolbars in your browsers. When the result is displayed, select malicious toolbar, extensions and others you what to remove, and then click Remove button to remove them. ( a similar picture is displayed below )



3. Repair hijacked homepage and modified search engine.


In Anvi Slim ToolBar box, please click on Browser Repair. IE, FF and Google Chrome are listed in the left; you can select any of them to change its homepage and search engine. When you choose customize homepage or customize search engine, please input the one you prefer.


Then click on Repair button to repair hijacked homepage and modified search engine and click on OK.



chromeIf you are Google Chrome users


1. Go to wrench or three bar icon 0$5ZM`7WU4VNDP6(@_WU)I5, click on Settings, and then come to On startup tab, select Open the new tab pages and click Set pages.


When Startup pages pops up, remove by clicking X behind it.

2. Next, switch to the Appearance tab, click Show Home button and click Change, and then change into or any one you prefer.

3. When the operation above is finished, come to Search tab, make sure that the content of the first bar is Google and then click Manage Search engines.

Then remove malicious search engines by clicking X behind them and click Make default behind Google to set it as your default engine.

4. Go to wrench or 3 bar icon 0$5ZM`7WU4VNDP6(@_WU)I5(next to the address bar), click on Tools and then click on Extensions. Locate toolbar and extensions and then remove them by clicking the trashcan icon next to them.

Step 3> Remove residual junk files, invalid registry entries form your computer
